  • First established in 2002, British college schools have currently achieved positive results after more than 10 years of development. Since the beginning of the 21st century, although governments have been affected by the political, economic, cultural and historical factors at that time and the gradually increasing role of the central government in primary and secondary education, the declining power of local authorities especially with the radical reform of the new Conservative Party government, and the highlighting role of the central government in controlling basic education, the purposes of the college school policies have not been changed fundamentally with its aims at improving the quality of education in primary and secondary schools, focusing on overall quality education, and reflecting its strong continuity. The core fulcrum of excellence in British college schools provides some inspiration for the establishment of the policy orientation of primary and secondary education in China.
