Abstract: Berberine,an isoquinoline alkaloid isolated from the traditional Chinese medical plant Coptis chinensis, exhibits bactericidal, insecticidal and herbicidal activity. In order to provide theoretical support and technical guidance for the production of berberine-base pesticides, soluble granules were prepared using extrusion granulation. Through single-factor screening tests, the types and amounts of major additives (carriers, dispersants, wetting agents, binders and disintegrators) were screened and optimized. The optimized formulation of the obtained 30% berberine soluble granules was found to be 30% berberine +10% sodium ligninsulfonate +7% polycarboxylate sp-2845w +2% polyvinyl alcohol-vinylalcohol polymer +7% NaCl +44% anhydrous Na2SO4. Furthermore, the indoor soil treatment method was used to control green bristlegrass (Setaria viridis L.). The results showed that the control effect of 30% berberine sulfate soluble granule was significantly better than that of 30% berberine hydrochloride soluble granule. Under the condition of weak alkalinity (pH=9),the control effects were 74.24%,66.01% and 68.17% for 3,7 and 14 days, respectively, and significantly inhibited the growth of green bristlegrass.
