Plant Medicine: Plant Health and “Homology of Medicine and Food”

摘要: “药食同源”是人体医学的概念，指的是许多食物即药物，能防治疾病；或反之，许多药物不仅能防治疾病，也可以是人类的食物，它们之间并无绝对的分界线.同样地，植物的肥料和药剂既能保证植物健康生长，也能抵御病虫草害发生.本文从中医药学的“药食同源”入手，讨论了植物医学中的“药食同源”，以期促进人们对植物及其植物健康与医学的了解.Abstract: “Homology of medicine and food” means that many foods are medicines as well, which can prevent and cure diseases. Inversely, many drugs can not only prevent disease, but also can be served as human food.There is no absolute dividing line between them. Similarly, fertilizers and chemicals help plants grow healthily, and they also protect them from diseases, pests, and weeds. This paper discusses the homology of medicine and food in plant medicine from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine and pharmacy. The results, expectedly, will promote people's understanding of plants and their health and medicine.
