Study on the Chemical Composition Differences of Demi-Slim Cigarette Smoke Between Two Brands

  • In order to understand the difference in smoke characteristics among different brands of demi-slim cigarettes, five commercial cigarettes, namely H and Y of Guangxi Zhenlong brand series and S, L and N of Henan Huangjinye brand series, were selected for investigation. GC-MS, GC and smoking machine were used to detect the aroma components and conventional components (nicotine, CO and tar content) in the mainstream smoke of two brands of cigarettes, At the same time, principal component analysis and correlation analysis were used to find out the style differences of middle cigarettes of different brands, and to clarify the differences of smoke characteristics of demi-slim cigarettes of different brands. The experimental results showed that: ①According to the principal component analysis, the two brands of cigarettes have obvious differences in the aroma components of smoke; The main aroma characteristics of the two cigarettes of the brand Zhenlong are the acerone which endows the smoke with fruit aroma and the Acacia alcohol which endows the smoke with floral and woody characteristics; The main aroma characteristics of S are megastigmatrienone and 2, 3-dihydro-3, 5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4hvpyran-4-one, which give the tobacco smoke its own flavor and sweet flavor; L and N to give the flue gas a strong floral flavor of 3-hydroxy-β-damascone, eugenol and 5-hydroxymethyl furfural were the main aroma characteristics. ②The two brands of cigarettes meet the low tar cigarette standard, but the content of conventional components in the smoke of the three Huangjinye cigarettes was basically higher than that of the two Zhenlong cigarettes. ③The correlation analysis showed that the similarity of the conventional components of each cigarette was more than 99%, indicating that the conventional components of the five cigarettes have strong stability. However, the similarity between H and other cigarette smoke conventional components was very low, as low as 27.5%, while the similarity between Y and other cigarettes was very high, especially the similarity with L was more than 99.0%, indicating that the conventional components of cigarette smoke cannot be used as a separate indicator to distinguish different brands of cigarettes.

Study on the Chemical Composition Differences of Demi-Slim Cigarette Smoke Between Two Brands

Abstract: 

In order to understand the difference in smoke characteristics among different brands of demi-slim cigarettes, five commercial cigarettes, namely H and Y of Guangxi Zhenlong brand series and S, L and N of Henan Huangjinye brand series, were selected for investigation. GC-MS, GC and smoking machine were used to detect the aroma components and conventional components (nicotine, CO and tar content) in the mainstream smoke of two brands of cigarettes, At the same time, principal component analysis and correlation analysis were used to find out the style differences of middle cigarettes of different brands, and to clarify the differences of smoke characteristics of demi-slim cigarettes of different brands.   • 中支卷烟的烟支形态属于中国烟草首创,是独具中国特色的中式卷烟新类型. 烟支圆周的先天优势可以充分展现中式卷烟的风格特征. 中支卷烟作为未来的发展热点,较常规卷烟有节能降耗和降焦减害等若干亮点;较细支卷烟又有浓度更佳、满足感更好的优点. 因此,中支卷烟受到市场的更多青睐,也符合行业高质量发展的总体战略需求[1-3]. 随着烟草消费的更新升级以及烟民自我健康意识的提升,中支卷烟的生产和销量是值得期待的,而中支卷烟的风格特征是其占领市场的必备条件. 卷烟风格特征是评价烟草制品的重要指标,是人的生理感官对烟草香气和吃味的综合感受,是卷烟品牌特有的风格[5-7]. 因此,分析不同品牌卷烟成分,对于保持卷烟风格稳定、品质提升具有重要意义.

    研究卷烟风格特征的方法甚多,包括烟丝成分[8-9]、烟气成分[10-11]以及烟支物理参数[12-15]等. 赖燕华等[16]对16种卷烟样品的顶空香气成分进行了分析,并应用聚类分析和主成分分析法对两个不同品牌卷烟的香气成分进行综合评价,结果表明,同一品牌卷烟很好地聚成一类,不同品牌卷烟很好地相互区分,说明化学成分能较好地反映相同品牌卷烟的相似性,又能体现不同品牌卷烟的相异性;武怡等[17]运用脸谱法将复杂的卷烟感官风格评价转化成直观易辨面部特征及表情,让评价人员可以利用图形更好地掌握不同卷烟的风格特征,有效地指导卷烟产品的开发和维护.

    随着烟草制品持续快速的增长,烟草行业的市场竞争也变得更加激烈,为进一步适应市场,有必要对比各中烟公司的中支产品,以达到促进产品质量提升的目的. 因此,本实验选定广西中烟2款中支卷烟(H和Y品种)以及河南中烟3款中支卷烟(S,L,N品种)为代表,采用连续流动仪、气相色谱-质谱联用(GC-MS)等技术手段,对比分析两个品牌卷烟的主流烟气中烟碱、CO含量、焦油含量以及烟气中挥发性成分及其特征香气成分,为卷烟品牌的风格表征、品质维护和真伪鉴别提供参考.

1.   材料与方法
  • 试剂及材料:二氯甲烷、无水乙醇(AR,天津市富宇化工有限公司);乙酸苯乙酯(色谱纯:99.9%,美国Sigma-Aldrich公司);正十七烷(高纯:99.5%,上海麦克林生化科技有限公司);乙醇、异丙醇(色谱级,长沙兴宁化工科技有限公司);无水硫酸钠(分析纯,天津大茂化学试剂厂). 92 mm剑桥滤片(英国Whatman公司);0.22 μm超滤膜(中国天津津腾公司)无菌注射器(1 mL,河南曙光健士医疗器械集团股份有限公司).

    仪器:Agilent6890A/5973GC-MS气质联用仪(安捷伦科技有限公司);Agilent7820A气相色谱仪(安捷伦科技有限公司);RM20H20孔道转盘式吸烟机(德国博瓦特凯西公司).

  • 采用20孔道吸烟机对样品香烟进行抽吸,用92 mm剑桥滤片收集烟气,将剑桥滤片放进装有50 mL二氯甲烷(含有乙酸苯乙酯作为内标)的三角瓶中并塞紧密封,超声震荡萃取30 min;直接抽取三角瓶中溶液,过0.22 μm微孔滤膜过滤,取1 mL作为烟气中挥发性物质GC-MS试样. 其中内标质量浓度为0.821 1 mg/mL. 内标制备方法为:取250 mL容量瓶,称取乙酸苯乙酯205.275 1 mg,记小数点至万分位,再加入二氯甲烷至250 mL定容.

    内标计算公式为:

  • 主流烟气中水分、烟碱、焦油含量的测量方法分别为:GB/T 23203.1-2013卷烟总粒相物中水分的测定气相色谱法[18];GB/T 23355-2009卷烟总粒相物中烟碱的测定气相色谱法[19];GB/T19609-2004,卷烟用常规分析用吸烟机测定总粒相物和焦油[20]. CO含量检测采用RM20H20孔道转盘式吸烟机自带CO含量检测系统,以4.0 L/mol标准CO气体标定. 每个样品同时做3次平行试验. 所有样品检验结果均除以20,记单支卷烟检测结果,单位记为mg/支. 其中焦油含量计算方法为:

  • 色谱实验条件:HP-INNOWAX19091N-136毛细管柱(60 m×0.25 mm×0.25 um);载气:氦气;流速:1 mL/min,溶剂延迟10 min;进样方式:分流比10∶1;进样口温度:250 ℃;升温程序:50 ℃保持20 min,然后以2 ℃/min升至250 ℃并保持20 min;进样量:1 μL;载气流速:1 μL/min.

    质谱实验条件:EI源,电子能量70 eV,离子源温度200 ℃,质量扫描范围:35~300 m/z,传输线温度280 ℃,对采集到的质谱图用NIST20谱库进行检索.

2.   结果与分析
  • 进行GC-MS分析后,选取90%以上匹配度的挥发性物质进行分析鉴定,结果见表 1.

    5个卷烟样品共鉴定出84种化合物,其中品种Y有43种、品种H有42种、品种N有48种、品种L有49种、品种S有50种,表 1仅列出了部分具备体现两品牌差异和具备特殊香气特征的物质. 各种类卷烟烟气粒相物中挥发性化学成分含量及物质种类差别不大,均包含酸类、酯类、烯烃类、酚类、酮类及大量烟碱及其衍生产物.

    而赋予卷烟烟气特殊香味的物质总含量分别为:品种S为20.16 μg/g、品种L为21.77 μg/g、品种N为23.38 μg/g、品种H为16.13 μg/g、品种Y为15 μg/g. 对所检测的5款卷烟总体来说,品牌黄金叶卷烟的烟气中香气成分含量明显高于品牌真龙卷烟,但香气物质的种类差异不明显,不便于清晰地分辨两品牌卷烟烟气特征具体差异. 例如:赋予卷烟烟气甘甜香气的巨豆三烯酮、甘菊花香气的5-羟甲基糠醛等对卷烟口感风味具有重要作用的物质,在5个卷烟样品中均有检出,且物质含量差异较小,因此需要利用主成分分析法对5款卷烟进行分析,以此推断两种品牌卷烟各自的风格特征.

  • 利用SPSS软件对5个样品中84种挥发性成分进行主成分分析,得到主成分的特征值和贡献率(表 2)、载荷矩阵(表 3). 由表 2可知,第1主成分的贡献率为36.181%,第2主成分的贡献率为26.165%,第3主成分的贡献率为20.529%,第4主成分的贡献率为17.125%. 前3个因子的累积贡献率为82.875%,因此提取3个主成分概括样品香气成分的总信息量,对样品进行综合评价.

    表 3可知,棕榈酸、巨豆三烯酮、3-羟基-β-二氢大马酮、4-乙烯基-2,6-二甲氧基-苯酚、丁香酚、对甲酚、2,3-二氢-3,5-二羟基-6-甲基-4H-吡喃-4-酮等物质在第一主成分上载荷值均大于0.8,说明第一主成分基本反映了这些化合物指标的信息;同理,第2主成分主要反映了硬脂酸、肉豆蔻酸、邻甲酚、邻苯二酚、α-芹子烯等物质;第3主成分反映了阿魏酸、(6R,7E,9R)-9-羟基-4,7-巨豆二烯-3-酮、香树烯、2,3′-联吡啶等物质;第4主成分反映了间羟基苯甲醛、亚麻酸甲酯、Z-11-五癸醇等物质. 而前3个因子的累积贡献率已达82.875%,说明前3个主成分基本包含了84种化合物的全部信息.

    根据表 1中5个样品的香味的含量及表 2中3个主成分的特征值和表 3中84种挥发性成分的载荷值计算出5个样品的第1、第2、第3主成分值,然后以第1主成分值为Z坐标、第2主成分值为Y坐标、第3主成分值为X坐标作散点图. 由图 1可知,5个样品根据距离远近分大致为3个区域,其中样品4(H)和样品5(Y)主成分比较相似,与其他样品有较大差距,说明两种品牌卷烟烟气特征挥发性化学成分存在较大差异.

    结合表 4可知,广西中烟2款卷烟(H和Y品种)香气组成的香气成分主要集中第1主成分的负半轴和第3主成分正半轴,香气特征有表现为果香的针叶烯、花香的金合欢醇以及具备木香和甜香特征的广藿香烷,其中卷烟Y的特征成分还有具备甜香特征的(6R, 7E, 9R)-9-羟基-4, 7-巨豆二烯-3-酮;除针叶烯载荷值在0.8以上外,其他3种物质载荷值均临近0.7,说明广西中烟2款中支卷烟的香气组成以果香为主,附带花香、木香以及及甜香.

    河南中烟黄金叶品牌卷烟品种S的香气成分主要集中在第1主成分正半轴和第3主成分正半轴,如:具有强烈辛香略带丁香花香的对苯二酚,具有烟草本香及甘甜香气特征的巨豆三烯酮、2,3-二氢-3,5-二羟基-6-甲基-4H-吡喃-4-酮,且具有烟草本香及甜香特征的物质载荷值均在0.8以上,说明S的香气特征为烟草本香及甜香,略带辛香及花香. 而品种L和N香气成分主要集中在第2主成分负半轴和第1主成分正半轴,其共同具有的香气特征为:具有强烈花香的3-羟基-β-二氢大马酮、丁香酚和5-羟甲基糠醛,具有果香特征的d-柠檬烯以及具有烟草甜香的巨豆三烯酮;除5-羟甲基糠醛以及d-柠檬烯的载荷绝对值分别为0.793,0.769以外,其他几种物质载荷绝对值均高于0.9,说明品种L以及品种N的香气特征为强烈花香以及果香、甜香.

  • 利用GC对主流烟气中常规成分含量进行检测,按照行业检测标准[18-19],对两种品牌的5款卷烟的烟碱含量、水分含量以及CO含量进行检测;同时按照标准计算5款卷烟烟气中焦油含量[20],结果见表 5.

    经过吸烟机抽吸及分析和气相色谱检测得出5款卷烟烟气中烟碱、水分、CO以及焦油含量结果见表 5. 结果表明:①根据卷烟烟气焦油量来看,5款卷烟均属于低焦油卷烟(焦油量≤10.0 mg/支);②品种H的烟气中烟碱、CO、焦油含量都是最少的,这可能与其滤嘴采用的是三段式复合滤嘴有关,滤嘴中活性炭有效地吸附了部分焦油,通风率的增加,使空气稀释了主流烟气中CO浓度,同时明显降低了烟气中烟碱含量,与于川芳等[12]的研究结果基本一致;③对5款卷烟总体来说,品牌黄金叶的烟气常规成分含量基本高于品牌真龙.

    为明确不同卷烟样品间主流烟气常规成分差异及相同卷烟样品组间烟气常规成分稳定性,对5个卷烟样品间的相似度进行了计算,结果见表 6. 结果表明:①同种卷烟样品的烟气常规成分的相似度均在99%以上,说明5款卷烟的常规烟气成分都具有极强的稳定性;②品种H与其他4款卷烟的烟气常规成分相似度极低,最低至27.5%,但品种Y却与其他卷烟烟气常规成分相似度极高,尤其是与品种L的相似度基本达到了99.0%以上,说明卷烟烟气的常规成分不能单独作为区分不同品牌卷烟的标准.

3.   结语
  • 本实验利用GC-MS对广西真龙和河南黄金叶两个品牌共5款市售中支卷烟烟气进行研究,通过对比分析其烟气粒相物中香气成分,结果表明:通过主成分分析,两种品牌卷烟在香气成分上具有明显差异;广西2款卷烟在香气上都以突出果香香韵特征为主;而河南3款卷烟,品种S以突显烟草本香及甜香香韵特征为主,品种L和N则是以强烈的花香为主要突出香韵. 本实验证实了不同地区或品牌卷烟香气特征存在差异,其产生的原因可能是由于不同品牌卷烟所侧重的消费群体对于卷烟香气感官的偏好存在差异. 同时,明确5款卷烟特征香气成分,突显了卷烟产品的独特性,有助于增强产品竞争能力,也可以为今后新产品的调香重点提出指导意见,提高经济效应.

    通过GC-MS对5款卷烟常规烟气成分进行分析,结果表明:5款卷烟均是行业标准中的低焦油卷烟,但品牌黄金叶的烟气常规成分检测结果均高于品牌真龙;相似性分析结果表明,同种卷烟烟气相似度极高,说明5款卷烟质量具有极强的稳定性;真龙2款卷烟中,品种H与其他卷烟常规成分的相似度极低,最低至27.5%,但品种Y与其他卷烟样品的相似度极高,尤其是与品种L相似度达到99.0%以上,说明卷烟烟气的常规化学成分不具备区分不同地区或品牌卷烟的能力.
