  • David Ellis is an important leader in the field of international information behavior research, and the information seeking behavior model created by him has unique theoretical purport.With the change of social environment and user groups, the activity characteristics of information seeking behavior model are changing constantly, showing great adaptability and inclusiveness, and making great contributions to the improvement of information behavior theory system.In this paper, the evolution from the four aspects of user groups, social environment, characteristics and application of Ellis model of information search behavior model has been reviewed, with history showing Ellis information search behavior model.Also, we've put forward contradictions founded in current research and advices were given for directions of future study.

On Ellis's Information-Seeking Behavior Model and Its Evolution

Abstract: David Ellis is an important leader in the field of international information behavior research, and the information seeking behavior model created by him has unique theoretical purport.With the change of social environment and user groups, the activity characteristics of information seeking behavior model are changing constantly, showing great adaptability and inclusiveness, and making great contributions to the improvement of information behavior theory system.In this paper, the evolution from the four aspects of user groups, social environment, characteristics and application of Ellis model of information search behavior model has been reviewed, with history showing Ellis information search behavior model.Also, we've put forward contradictions founded in current research and advices were given for directions of future study.
