On Coupling Development and Spatio-Temporal Differentiation Between Tourism Industry and Urbanization Systems in Pearl River Xijiang Economic Belt——Based on Panel Data of 11 Cities From 2006-2015

Abstract: The coupling evaluation mode is applied to calculate the statistical data of the Pearl River Xijiang economic belt from 2006 to 2015 in the paper.It is found that both the tourism and urbanization have improved, the base of the tourism industry development is poor than urbanization, but the speed of tourism industry development is faster.So, the level of urbanization cannot fully meet the needs of the tourism industry since 2014.The tourism and urbanization system has obvious coupling characteristics.Coupling, coordination degree and the coupled state between urbanization and the tourism industry system has undergone a process from low to high level in Pearl River Xijiang economic belt.There are Zhaoqing and Nanning have not realizing high coupling, good coordination and high harmony.The temporal characteristics of Coupling evolutionary and regional differentiation are significant.It is suggested that, in order to achieve the integration of the Pearl River Xijiang economic belt, something should be done to enhance the level of urbanization, and to stimulate the driving effect of the urban area, and the central area are needed.
