Personality Development in Social Relationships

More Information
  • Personality development is influenced by gene-environment transactions. Developmental pathways of individual personality from childhood to adolescence are influenced by three social relationships in social environment-sibling relationships, parent-child relationships and peer relationships. The quality and state of these three social relationships are closely related to the development of three behavioral orientations: antisocial behavior, social inhibition and withdrawal, and pro-social behavior. To help children establish good social relationships to develop healthy personality, parent should take educational methods according to children's behavioral orientation.
