On Bias Simulation Tests of Single-Sided Strengthening of Shear Wall
Abstract: Enlarging-section Reinforcement method of the shear wall is an effective as well as frequently-used way to strengthen a reinforced concrete structure ,among which ,the enlarging double-sided of the cross-section of the wall is applied mostly ,while it can′t be taken into account in some given circum-stances ,such as for architectural aesthetics ,using function and the construction condition limited .T here-fore ,enlarging single-sided of the cross-section of the wall has been proposed as a serviceable way to solve this problem .To probe into the performance of this method and provide a simulation for the physical mod-el tests ,three simulation models of shear wall with line-shaped at the scale of 1∶3 have been established :the original shear wall ,enlarging double-sided of the cross-section of the wall and enlarging single-sided one .Then ,An finite element analysis software ABAQUS has been adopted to compare the damage charac-teristics and stress-strain patterns from elastic stage to destruction stage of the three models at eccentric compression by static force from the whole process .Results show that ,both of the two strengthening ways can improve the normal section bearing capacity (the double-sided and single-sided strengthening ways′increasing coefficient are 2 .8 and 3 .5 respectively ) ,stiffness and ductility of the shear wall .Fur-thermore ,the single-sided method′s normal section bearing capacity calculated reached 77% of the double-sided one .That is ,choosing the best strengthen way in terms of practical engineering conditions to balance all kinds of needs is available by this reinforcement method .
