Abstract: Personality is formed in the activities of meeting all kinds of needs of humanity. The academic personality of university teachers is an apparent and stable characteristic shown both in psychology and behavior of the university teachers in the academic activities of meeting the needs of academic development. The academic personality is one of the basic personalities, i.e. intelligent personality. It constitutes the personality structure of university teachers with political personality and moral personality. It is a kind of academic personality with relative freedom i.e. pessimistic freedom. It has two types: psychological personality and behavioral personality. The psychological personality contains the personality characteristics shown in psychological process and personal psychology. Behavioral personality contains learning personality, teaching personality, scientific research personality and social service personality. To research the academic personality of university teachers, on the one hand, is the need in recognizing and improving ones own academic personality. On the other hand, it can help university teachers to recognize and shape academic personality and also help students to recognize and study teachers personality.
