国民性的内涵及其养成

摘要: “国民性”概念缘于欧洲启蒙运动。其历史源流显示,“国民性”兼具两层内涵:政治意义上,与民族国家的建立和巩固密切相关;学术意义上,表示一个民族与其生存的文化生态系统相互适应形成的共同心理结构。现代教育,需从关注人的精神成长,从民族性格与文化认同角度,遵循现代人文教育和公民教育理念,秉承“通达民情、化育人心”的中国传统教育精神,发挥“民族文化心理场”对国民性的养成作用,构建塑造现代国人人文素养、公民意识和国家精神的动态、交叉、立体的教育生态,培养国民的国民性。Abstract: The concept of “national character” first emerged during the age of European Enlightenment. Since then it has been defined and interpreted. Its origins and historical changes show that “national character” combines two connotations. Politically it is closely related with the establishment and consolidation of the nationstate. Academically it represents a common psychological structure formed in the mutual adaptation of a nation and its own peculiar cultural ecosystem. To shape the humanity accomplishment, citizen consciousness and national spirit of modern Chinese, modern education should be developed into a dynamic, crossing and allround educational ecosystem to cultivate Chinese national character, which not only follows the idea of modern humanism education and civic education, but also inherits and promotes the spirit of Chinese traditional education “to help students understand society, to cultivate students”; and which fulfills the play of “national cultural psychological field” to enhance national character and cultural identity based on the philosophy of concerning persons spiritual growth.
